It's been a challenging year and a half for everyone in many different ways. One thing we've all learned is that it helps to be flexible and adaptable. I got a bit of a curveball yesterday with the City informing that their requirements for use of the park are different from what we were expecting based on what Sport Manitoba had told to the MCA regarding the latest public health orders. That may mean that CrossTastic will have to be a fully vaccinated event (12+). I expect to resolve this today. It's not our decision to make, but in the event that the only way to proceed is by being fully vaccinated there would be two consequences:
1/ EVERYONE 12+ will have to prove full COVID vaccine immunization (via the card and app) before they can enter the area (that includes to park or drop off).
2/ Volunteers will be needed to check status as people enter the park. We'll need people to sign up for shifts to do that and unfortunately will have to cancel the event if not enough people do.
UPDATE: We'll need to proceed as a fully vaxxed event. If we don't execute correctly we'll lose access to our city venues for future races. We can pull this off! By tomorrow morning I'll upload a spreadsheet that people can sign up to and reopen registration. Thanks!
Sorry to hear about that. Any chance we can use a different area that won’t be a problem?
ReplyDeleteHow do we sign up to volunteer?
ReplyDeleteHi Gord. This has all come up suddenly, but looks like this is the way we'll have to proceed. I'll have something set up later tonight and will post on registration, web site and here.
