Course Marshals Needed

We are in need of marshals for each of the three races, especially the first one. If you are able to volunteer please contact Gary at gsewell at mts dot net.

In appreciation, volunteers will receive extra tickets to the post race draws. In addition those volunteer tickets won't require the person to be present for the draw.

Support Your Local Bike Shop Draw

Minimum $1000 to be spent at a local bike shop. All racers with paid race registration will automatically receive one entry and must be present to receive the prize.

Without a huge amount of volunteer help CrossTastic wouldn't be possible. In appreciation volunteers will receive additional tickets. In the case of volunteer tickets the winner doesn't have to be present.

Draw will take place after race tear down and medal presentations.

How To Upgrade To An MCA Race Licence

To obtain an MCA race licence in order to race this weekend you'll need to do that through CCN here. If you already paid for a MCA general membership this year, CCN will just charge you the difference. If you've been relying on Day Licences so far whether for 'cross, road, and/or MTB you'll need to pay for the race licence on CCN. Afterwards, contact the MCA with proof of payment of your 2024 Day Licences and the MCA will refund you that amount.

Licences

If you were relying on day licences to race earlier in the season, the good news is that you can upgrade to an MCA licence to take part in CrossTastic. The even better news is that the MCA will credit what you've already paid for day licences towards the MCA licence. The even better better news is that if you've already paid for three day licences the upgrade will cost less than another day licence. And the even better better better news is you'll save even more money by not having to buy a licence for BeachCross.

The bad news is you need to act quickly. Contact the MCA office.

2023 Course

There are slight variations from last year's course. Of note, there's been a lot of dead fall over the last year. That includes two areas in particular where trees have fallen across the course and are about 8 feet off the ground. They are highlighted on the course map in orange. I highly recommend that you pre-ride the course ahead of time to familiarise yourself with any potentially challenging or hazardous areas.

So Ya Messed Up

So ya messed up and missed the pre-registration cut-off. Lucky for you we love 'cross and we love seeing people race 'cross. Email me and we might be able to get you in. It'll cost ya though 😉. gsewell at mymts dot net.

Kids Fun Race

Participation in any of the races requires a race licence. For the Kids Fun Race only, kids (U13) without a race licence may take part with a day permit obtained during registration or if they've already registered obtained at sign-in. FOG will cover the cost of the day permits.

Day permits are only available for the Kids Fun Race.

Age Reminder

As per the race bible, your age for CrossTastic is what it will be at the end of 2024.

The World Championships for cyclocross are held at the end of January/beginning of February. Working back from there riders qualify to compete at Worlds at their National Championships which are typically held in January, and just before that at their regional championships. Due to our cold weather in Canada our local Championships are held earlier, but they are still related to the February Worlds. For this edition that's 2024.
